url-decoder.net is a small collection of free, fast utilities for working with URLs, starting with the encoder and decoder on the home page. It exists because a task this common should not require installing anything, creating an account, or wondering where your data goes.

Privacy by architecture

Every tool on this site runs entirely in your browser. When you paste a query string or upload a file, the processing happens on your own device with JavaScript. There is no backend that receives your input, no queue, and no storage. You can verify this yourself: load the page, disconnect from the internet, and the tools keep working.

Built on the standards

The encoder follows RFC 3986, the specification for URI syntax, and handles UTF-8 as well as the legacy ISO-8859-1 and Windows-1252 character sets that older systems still produce. Malformed input gets a clear error message with the position of the problem instead of silently wrong output.

How the site is funded
